There are several possible reasons why this could happen: Over application - there is a limit to the amount of oil that the wood can absorb, excess application can cause the oil to dry on the surface - which can create a sticky or tacky surface. Allowing for extra ventilation into the room will allow as much air flow as possible. Only natural air can help the drying process. We do not recommend to turn the heating up as this can cause the product to dry on the surface instead of naturally absorbing into the wood.
