Our products achieve the best results and the intended appearance when applied directly onto the wood. Applying over other finishes may be problematic as these previous treatments may have worn in some areas more than others, causing a patchy or uneven result. We recommend to clean or slightly sand old microporous finishes, but varnishes and lacquers must be sanded.
