Application Tools

Double Bladed Trowel

A high quality German-made double sided trowel for the easy and efficient application of viscous wood finishes. Used in large “figure 8” sweeping motions, the trowel has two sides, flexible (for initial spreading) and firm (for removing product excess). No sharp edges or burrs; the trowel can be disassembled completely with a screwdriver and stainless steel portions can be thoroughly cleaned with Osmo Brush Cleaner and Thinner 8000.

Professional Trowel

A high quality German-made 500mm trowel for the easy and efficient application of viscous wood finishes over large areas of flooring. Telescopic handle and frame saves kneeling and allows the user to cover large areas quickly. No sharp edges or burrs; the trowel is cleaned with a cloth and then wiped down with Osmo Brush Cleaner and Thinner 8000.

FloorXcenter

Osmo FloorXcenter is a lightweight and easy to manage floor buffing unit which has a soap dispenser that enables the user to dispense the optimal amount of a pre-loaded cleaner, such as a mixture of Osmo Intensive Cleaner, or Osmo Wash and Care for easy floor maintenance. Can be used to clean, resurface as well as colour and refinish floors with Osmo wood finishes.

How-to

MECHANICALLY WITH A TROWEL AND FLOOR BUFFER

Apply one thin coat with an Osmo FloorxCenter or floor-buffing machine.

  1. Stir the Polyx® Professional Colour Oil well prior to use.
  2. Trowel the product thinly onto the floor using an Osmo Double Sided Scraper or similar.
  3. Allow approx. 35-45 minutes for product to penetrate surface
  4. Disperse and polish the floor using a floor buffer and green pads.
  5. There is too much material on the surface when you can see rings. If so, turn the pad over.
  6. Allow 8-10 hours drying time. Allow for good ventilation whilst drying
  7. In order to protect the pigments, 1-coat of a clear Osmo Polyx®-Oil is necessary as a top coat

Tip: Prior to buffing, remove product from room corners with a clean lint-free cloth and then blending the area using the white pad on the floor buffer

MECHANICALLY WITH A FLOOR BUFFER

Apply one thin coat with an Osmo FloorxCenter or floor-buffing machine.

  1. Stir the Polyx® Professional Colour Oil well prior to use.
  2. Using a green pad on a FloorxCenter or similar thinly massage product evenly into the floor
  3. Allow approx. 35-45 minutes for product to penetrate surface
  4. Disperse and polish the floor, removing all excess product using a floor buffer and white pads.

Tip: Using a trowel to apply the product eliminates the need for green pads since the product is troweled across the surface as opposed to buffed in. Therefore expenditure on buffing pads is greatly reduced.

BY HAND WITH SCOTCHBRITE PADS

For small areas and furniture, apply one thin coat with a non-abrasive, white scotchbrite pad and a lint-free cloth.

  1. Stir the Polyx® Professional Colour Oil well and pour a small amount into a disposable container
  2. With a white scotchbrite pad work the product into the wood evenly in figure 8 or circular motions
  3. Be sure to thinly and evenly coat the surface and leave on the surface for approx. 35 minutes
  4. With a clean lint-free cloth, polish the surface ensuring no rings, wipe marks or blotches
  5. Ensure all excess product is removed from surface.
  6. Approx. 8-10 hours drying time. Allow for good ventilation whilst drying
  7. In order to protect the pigments, 1-coat of a clear Osmo Polyx®-Oil is necessary as a top coat

Tinting: Osmo Polyx® Professional Colour Oils can also be used to lightly tint Polyx®-Oil Pure 5125 up to a ratio of 10:1. Do not exceed a ratio of 10 parts Polyx®-Oil Pure 5125 to 1 part Professional Colour Oil.
